SACRED HEARTH OUTREACH
Mission Statement

SACRED HEARTH OUTREACH provides support for incarcerated Pagans via the USPS, and eMessaging services such as Securus, Jpay, CorrLinks and Getting Out. Every individual, regardless of their past, deserves the opportunity to explore and nurture their own religion, personal faith, and spiritual journey… and do so within community if/when that’s possible. We choose to work with Pagan and Wiccan prisoners who are vastly underserved and who can be isolated.
• We are an all-volunteer group which welcomes help in our mission.
• We are self-supporting through the generosity of our volunteers, supporters, and inmate friends.
We aim, through our four monthly educational courses (Norse Heathenism/Asatru, Celtic Paganism, Celtic Druidry, and Wicca), our quarterly newsletter \leuk‑* (“The Light”), and resource referrals, to:

Foster Spiritual Growth: We help Pagan and Wiccan inmates access educational materials that allow them to explore and further develop their own spiritual path while incarcerated.

Encourage Critical Thinking, Personal Exploration, Growth and Creativity: The transformative power of spirituality can contribute positively to inmates’ personal development. Our participants share what they’ve learned through their artwork and writing (poems, rituals, prayers, encounters with the gods, etc.)

Create Connections: We serve as a channel between inmates and Pagan communities, educating the latter as to the fallacies and stereotypes that discourage involvement with the former. We aim to reduce isolation through pen-pal correspondence, visits, and other means, if/when possible.
SACRED HEARTH OUTREACH emphasizes the importance of spirituality, community, and inclusivity. We don’t discriminate against any pagan or wiccan inmate. The good we put out into our world will return in increased abundance for all to benefit !!!
